Tomorrow I head for Carson City, the Capital of Nevada. It's a longer drive than I want to do in one day so I'll stop tomorrow night at Tonopah, NV. Don't think they have any trains there.
To locate and ride as many excursion railroads, live steam railroads, park trains, light rail systems, commuter rail systems, trolleys and other miscellaneous railroad like contraptions as I can find in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. I will be traveling through these states pulling and living in my 5th wheel trailer. I plan to head west from Austin on May 2nd and my first venue will be the Old Pueblo Trolley in Tucson, AZ. I will immediately after that fail in my goal to ride all of the railroads as there is no way to get to both the Yuma Valley Railroad and the Adobe Western in Phoenix as they are both only operated on Sunday afternoon. Since May 6th will be the last run of the season for the Adobe Western, they get the nod this time. Maybe I will be able to make a mad dash to Yuma at the end of my trek and ride the Yuma Valley but this would be in August ... HOT.
There will be other places I visit besides railroads but I will leave those as a surprise.
Trains I would like to ride this summer.
A note: The technique I have been using to post a formatted list of trains, with different fonts, type sizes and colors, suddenly stopped working, can't figure out why. I have substituted a jpg image. If this causes anyone a problem, let me know.
